Water Purification Plant Project
We fixed the plant in the village temple in May 2023. The cost was LKR 259,000. The plant had broken down a few months earlier due to a technical issue.
Suddenly there was a lack of potable water for drinking and for preparing food. That was also a major problem for the temple, as this was its only source of income. There are around 150 Buddhist devotees in the village who use the temple filter as their only source of clean water.
About 3 years ago, the Katsuura Rotary Club had generously donated it to the Sri Sudarshanaramaya Buddhist Temple and in a flash their kindness was disabled, so we had to act. People are very happy we did.
